Solid Brass handles are
attached with
stainless steel pins.
The heafty blade is 3/16" thick,
flame hardened tool steel.
Tempered to a beautiful straw
color for a quality edge.

These are used in cutting the
side straight edge of bridge notches,
before finishing off with the notching chisel.
First the side is sawn with a thin kerf fine
saw. Then, this knife is struck to remove a
shaving off the edge, cleaning up the saw
marks. It also applies the profile of the
notch that is desired, Depending on the
straight, or curved shape each craftsman
uses. Many use the set of 3 to give the
versatility they enjoy when notching.
